Gluvna Shimo Hromada

Jennie P. Potyrala (nee Cyran) age 95, of Lorain, passed away on the morning of Thursday January 18th, 2018 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Lorain on January 11, 1923 and remained a life-long resident of the city; Jennie was a 1941 graduate of Lorain High School.

Mrs. Potyrala was formerly employed at General Industries; she also worked at Kowalski Bakery as well as offering personal catering services and wedding cake design on her own

In addition, she served as a volunteer at both St. Joseph Hospital and Mercy Regional Medical Center. Jennie was an accomplished bowler who participated in numerous senior leagues hosted by Rebman’s Recreation.

She was a parishioner of Nativity BVM Catholic Church in Lorain as well as a member of the Altar & Rosary Society there.

She is survived by her sons Kenneth (Judy) Potyrala of Lorain, Ted (Plang) Potyrala of Thailand, and Russell (fiancée Margie Crowley) Potyrala of Kettering, and daughter Barbara Ann (Chuck) of Amherst. Jennie also leaves nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and sister Rita Kinchy of Macedonia.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Emil Potyrala in 1961, by her second husband Leo Potyrala in 2006, by her parents Martin and Hedwig (nee Placek) Cyran, by brothers Leo and John Cyran, and sister Bernice Pastula.
