Proud of Her Polish Heritage & Her Four Children, Age 91
Born: September 20, 1918 Died: February 20, 2010
Julia Kurtz (nee Menowski), 91, of Lorain, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday February 20, 2010 at her home. She was born September 20, 1918 in Finley, Pennsylvania and had resided in the Lorain area most of her life. Julia was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter in Lorain. She was a devout Catholic and raised her children to live in the Catholic faith. As the matriarch of her family, she lived her religion and loved with her heart and hands. Her Mother’s touch of her hand, hug and kiss will always be felt. Julia was extremely proud of her Polish and American heritage and continued those traditions in her daily life and during birthdays and holidays. She was proud of her well-kept comforting home and her four children whom she made sacrifices in order for them to get an education and have a better life than she did. There was always hot coffee and homemade food on the stove and an open door to her neighbors, relatives, children and pets. Heaven has another Angel watching over her own children. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and love of her life of 72 years Joseph J. Kurtz, children Patricia K. Thompson of Lorain, Veronica K. Burda of Dublin, Robert L. Kurtz (companion Judith Handley) of Lorain and Steven J. Kurtz (Denise) of Stow, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Theodore and Catherine Menowski (nee Ferencz), brother Alexander Menowski and sisters Ola Ford, Nellie Koplets, Mary Warren and Anna Kowalchik.
