| Athalie J. “Otti” Severa (nee Dubesa), 84, of Lorain, died Monday February 22, 2010 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain after a brief illness. She was born June 4, 1925 in Sheffield Township and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident. Athalie graduated from Clearview High School in 1943. She worked for the Lorain County Auditor doing appraisal work for 16 years. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township and the church Altar & Rosary Society. Athalie was happiest spending time with her family and cooking great Hungarian food. She enjoyed gardening. She is survived by her daughters Julie Wellman of Mammoth, Arizona, Mary Gikas of Lorain and Laura Gonzalez (Lupe) of Lorain with whom she made her home, 5 grandchildren: Carrie Osborn of California, Dimitrios Gikas of Avon, Maria Klima of Avon, Guadalupe Gonzalez III of Lorain and Charles Gonzalez of Lorain, 11 great grandchildren, sister Olga Frank of Elyria and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Severa on January 25, 1995, parents John and Julia Dubesa (nee Drusin), sister Marie Wedick and brothers John Dubesa, James Dubesa and Michael Dubesa. |
