Rita M. Hartman, (nee Weber), age 85, died Wednesday February 17th at the Keystone Pointe Care Center in LaGrange. Rita was born in Lorain on February 2, 1925 and had been a long-time resident of that city.

She was formerly employed as a clerk with the Nickel Plate Railroad Company.

Mrs. Hartman was a parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township and was also a member of the Altar & Rosary Society there.

She was an active member of the Lorain County Democratic Women’s Club as well as the Ladies Auxiliary of Elmer Johnson Post # 118 of the American Legion in Amherst.

In her free time she enjoyed camping and fishing. Rita was also an avid league bowler and was proud to have compiled a 500 series in league competition.

She is survived by her sons Nicholas R. Hartman (companion Sally Harrington) of North Olmsted, and James R. Hartman, Jr. (wife Leah) of LaGrange, a daughter Joan M. Hollan (husband Jeffrey) of Penfield Township, grandchildren Heather, Danielle, Julie, Jennifer, Nicholas, James R., III, and Jeffrey, Jr., along with a great grandchildren Liam, Malia, Gavin, Allan, Alexis, and Lorenzo, and sister Eileen DeLeonardis of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband James R. Hartman, Sr. in 1994, by her father William A. Weber, Sr., by her mother Mildred Weber (nee Nestor), by a brother William A. Weber, Jr., and by her sister Dorothy.
