Marilyn L. Farmer (nee Becker), 81, of Lorain, died Monday April 9, 2018 at Mercy New Life Hospice Center in Lorain after a seven-month illness.

She was born July 19, 1936 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain County resident.

Marilyn graduated from Lorain High School in 1954.  She worked at Lorain County Job & Family Services as a Caseworker, Receptionist & Aide for 18 years retiring in 2001.  Prior to that, she worked as a bar manager at Carey’s Villa in Elyria and All Nations Club in Lorain.

She is survived by her daughters: Debra Matotek (John Gilles) of Amherst and Denise Sanchez of Lorain; grandchildren: Jillian DiFilippo (Mike), Amanda Solis, Anthony Solis and Joe Sullivan, all of Lorain; great grandchildren: Alessandra Flores, Aiden DiFilippo, Alejandro Solis, Mason DiFilippo and Olivia DiFilippo and her beloved pets Chi Chi and Nikki.  She was preceded in death by her long-time companion John Horn in 2000 and parents Leslie H. Becker in 2001 and Mary M. Becker (nee Smole) in 2000 and son-in-law Robert Sanchez.
