Wilma M. Szabo, (nee Kurucz), age 85, passed away Wednesday November 14, 2012 due to complications associated with her battle with Vascular Dementia. She was born in Kerney, Pennsylvania on May 14, 1927 and had been a long-time resident of Lorain.Wilma had formerly been employed as a Billing Clerk for the Ohio Edison Company for a number of years. She had been an active parishioner of both the Catholic Church of St. Peter in Lorain as well as St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township and was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society at both churches. Mrs. Szabo was devoted to her family and always enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Additional interests included cooking and baking in her free time. She was also an advocate of the Rite to Life Movement. She is survived by sons Gregory of Lorain, David of Elyria, and Alan of Canton, by her daughter Linda (Dan) Meyer of Waterville, Ohio, by grandchildren Paul Meyer, Jonathan Meyer, Michelle Meyer, and Ashley Reynolds, and by her great grandson Genson Meyer. She also leaves sisters Janet, Irene, and Helen, along with her brother Robert. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward W. Szabo, by her son Edward D. Szabo, by her parents Joseph and Veronica (nee Bucz) Kurucz, by her sister Mary, and by brothers Andrew, John, Frank, Michael, Joseph, and Paul. |
